Indian bowlers doing great job for India. WI top order again collapse under 100 score

India is in strong position to enter into semi final

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's batting approach and position in the middle order will be the team management's primary concern when India take on an ousted-yet-dangerous West Indies in the sixth league phase encounter of the ICC World Cup 2019 here on Thursday (June 27).
As the league phase hits the home stretch, India will look to ensure a smooth passage into the semi-finals with yet another victory.
But it could be easier said than done against a West Indies side, which might play party poopers with nothing to lose in their remaining few games.
In fact, West Indies' unpredictability and the former India captain's repeated failure during the important second Powerplay overs leaves skipper Virat Kohli with a few points to ponder.
Dhoni's painfully slow approach against the Afghanistan yielded 28 off 52 balls and he was roundly criticised. Even the normally restrained Sachin Tendulkar questioned the approach.
"There was no positive intent," the usually reticent Tendulkar's observation on a TV channel has been spot on.

24 June in Cricket History -Sri Lanka's Headingley high 2014

The day Sri Lanka won a Test, and a series, with a ball to spare. With the penultimate ball of a gripping final day at Headingley, Shaminda Eranga dismissed James Anderson to give Sri Lanka their first series victory in England (in a series of more than a Test). England seemed to have the match in control on the second day but a collapse of 8 for 87, followed by a century from Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews and an inspired spell from seamer Dhammika Prasad left them tottering at 57 for 5, chasing 350. England were able to prolong the match thanks mainly to Moeen Ali's defiant maiden Test century, but Sri Lankan prevailed in the end. The win also meant Sri Lanka finished with a clean sweep on the tour, after victories in the T20 and one-day series.

Afghanistan chasing 263 to beat Bangladesh: Cricket World Cup 2019

28th over: Afghanistan 104-2 (Gulbadin 47, Afghan 13) Gulbadin heaves for one and looks frustrated to find himself stuck at the non-striker’s end as Shaifuddin continues to rumble in. Afghan this time manages to find a single, though. Gulbadin celebrates with another awkward heave for a single. There’s no lack of intent but he’s still struggling to time the ball out there.

Underdog Afghanistan restricted Ghaint Indian Batting on Just 224 runs

Virat Kohli scored his third consecutive World Cup fifty as India recovered from the shock of losing Rohit Sharma early against Afghanistan on Saturday. Indian skipper Kohli won the toss under sunny skies in Southampton and chose to bat but they were in early trouble when Sharma was bowled by Mujeeb Ur Rahman for just one, leaving India seven for one in the fifth over. Rohit Sharma has been in superb form at the World Cup in England and Wales, scoring a century against Pakistan last week to add to his ton against South Africa. Rohit Sharma's dismissal brought Kohli to the wicket, but India struggled to break free of the Afghan shackles, reaching 41-1 at the end of the first 10-over powerplay. Off-spinner Mujeeb was particularly impressive, conceding just 18 runs in his six-over spell. India lost KL Rahul for 30 with the score on 64. Rahul top-edged a reverse-sweep into the hands of Hazratullah Zazai at short third man off the bowling of Mohammad Nabi. Kohli, who scored half-centuries against Australia and Pakistan, reached his fifty off 48 balls, with four fours. India passed the 100-run mark in the 23rd over
Afghan batsmen  need just 225 to create big upset in 2019 Cricket world cup
After yesterday's performance from Sri Lanka, we cannot rule out Afghanistan here. They are well in the game, a quick start from their openers can put India under pressure. On the other hand, Virat Kohli will be looking it as a challenge for his impressive bowling unit to get India over the line.
